What is a pre-wash oil and how does it differ from a regular hair oil?
A pre-wash oil is a hair treatment applied before washing, not after. This allows it to actively work on the scalp and hair follicles without leaving any greasiness on the hair after rinsing. After application, leave it on for 15–30 minutes (or overnight) and then wash your hair with shampoo as usual.

How does rosemary oil contribute to hair health?
Rosemary essential oil helps stimulate the scalp and supports the appearance of healthier, stronger hair. Clinical studies from 2015 examined the effects of rosemary oil on the scalp and showed promising results in reducing hair loss. This refers to the effect of the ingredient itself, not the final product.

Is the oil suitable for oily hair or an oily scalp?
Yes. Squalane, as the oil's base, is non-comedogenic — it does not clog pores. Azelaic acid in the formula also helps regulate sebum production. The oil should be applied exclusively before washing. After use, we recommend shampooing twice in a row to thoroughly remove any residue.

Does the product contain silicones or mineral oils?
No. The product contains no silicones, mineral oils, paraffin or synthetic softeners. All oil ingredients are of plant origin.

Is the product vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. The product is 100% vegan — it contains no ingredients of animal origin. It is certified by Cruelty Free International under the Leaping Bunny programme, meaning it has not been tested on animals at any stage of production. Botanica Slavica also holds the Green Brands Slovakia certificate.

How soon will I see results?
With regular use twice a week, the first results (less hair loss, support for the appearance of stronger hair) are typically visible after 6 weeks. More noticeable long-term results appear after 3–4 months of consistent use.

Is the oil safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
The product contains essential oils (rosemary, mint, thyme) which are not recommended in higher doses during the first trimester. Please consult your doctor before use.

How to use the oil correctly?
- Apply 4–6 drops directly to the scalp
- Massage in with circular motions for 2–3 minutes (use the pads of your fingers or a scalp massager, not your nails, to avoid irritation)
- Leave on for 15–30 minutes (or overnight)
- Wash out with shampoo — we recommend shampooing twice in a row
- Use at least twice a week for 6 weeks
