Carefully obtained ingredients not tested on animals, such as eco-certified organic vegetable oils and butters, natural waxes, pure essential oils and unique natural active substances are a matter of course for us.

We are against any cruelty to people or animals. We therefore pay attention to the fair trade origin of the raw materials, as well as to the way they are tested. We do not test our raw materials or products on animals, as evidenced by the internationally recognized Leaping Bunny certification that our products have received.

We protect the environment and back up packaging. As with the selection of raw materials, we also pay attention to their quality, safety and impact on the planet when choosing packaging materials. That's why we use exclusively verified and certified packaging, which you can return to us after using the products and get a discount on your next purchase.

NATURAL COSMETICS – HEALTHY COSMETICS

The skin is the largest organ of our body. Adequate skin care and nutrition is therefore very important. Even our skin has its own specific needs and characteristics, so we should take care of it with high-quality cosmetics. Quality cosmetics will nourish it and supplement all the substances it needs for a healthy appearance. Common products, or so called commercial products or commercial cosmetics, often contain synthetic substances that can burden the body, skin as well as hair. Among others, for example, oil, parabens, silicones, chemical UV filters, microplastics or synthetic fragrances. All of this can irritate your face and body skin, or even cause an allergic reaction. It is known that the skin can absorb up to 60% of the ingredients from the products that we apply to it, and for this reason, we should say goodbye to cosmetics that are made from oil and contain a large number of harmful substances or synthetic ingredients.

Let's go back to the roots and to natural cosmetics made from natural plant ingredients with a base of high-quality cold-pressed plant oils. Natural cosmetics have been very popular in recent years. Join this trend and try the great effects of purely natural substances on your own skin. Unlike classic cosmetics, natural cosmetics products do not pose a burden to the environment either. Thanks to the absence of synthetic substances such as irritating preservatives, artificial dyes or artificial perfumes, natural cosmetics do not burden the organism and at the same time save our environment.

The use of natural cosmetics is a matter of course for many people, as it is becoming more and more affordable. Natural cosmetics represent an ideal alternative for skin care. Natural cosmetics and BIO cosmetics have a very gentle natural composition, which has beneficial effects even on more sensitive skin or skin suffering from skin problems. The products mainly contain plant ingredients that do not burden the skin. They are often also suitable for allergy sufferers and small children. From birth, the sensitive skin of babies and children needs only the gentlest cosmetics that do not irritate or burden. The ideal solution is baby creams, soaps, shower gels and shampoos with natural ingredients.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NATURAL AND BIO COSMETICS?

Did you know that natural and organic cosmetics are not always the same?

High-quality natural cosmetics will give your skin health and vitality - all thanks to high-quality ingredients of plant origin. However, products that contain only 1% natural ingredients can also carry the label natural cosmetics. Such products are often presented under commercial brands as "new, natural lines". BIO cosmetics have stricter criteria than natural cosmetics. BIO cosmetics are made from natural products in BIO quality. Similar to natural cosmetics, there are no chemical or synthetic ingredients in its composition. And just like with natural cosmetics, the % of BIO ingredients in the product is also important here.

Natural and BIO cosmetics should be:

- without the content of chemical and synthetic fragrances, dyes and preservatives

- high-quality composition that does not contain parabens, silicones and substances based on mineral oils

- enriched with natural active substances - natural oils, extracts, aromas and vitamins and antioxidants

- carefully formulated with respect for skin health

In the production of BIO cosmetics, raw materials are used that were grown according to the principles of ecological agriculture (without the use of herbicides, pesticides and artificial fertilizers). In most cases, natural cosmetics do not contain gluten, sulfates, parabens, petroleum derivatives, silicone oils, synthetic fragrances, dyes, preservatives and other harmful substances. However, really high-quality 100% natural cosmetics contain only purely natural ingredients with a large amount of vitamins, moisturizing substances and antioxidants that support and stimulate the natural functions of our skin. True 100% natural cosmetics are therefore made exclusively from natural ingredients and definitely contain a significant percentage of them by volume. It should be a matter of course for any cosmetic product to list the complex composition on the packaging. So the easiest way to find out if it is really a natural product is to check the composition. Botanicals and other natural ingredients should be listed first, only then you will find (or ideally not even find) the synthetic ones.

In the production of Soaphoria products, we prefer BIO ingredients. Many of our Fair Trade raw materials even have the world-recognized ecocertificate of ecoCert, Cosmos or, for example, the Soil Association, which indicates a gentle way of obtaining that raw material. Also, the percentage use of purely natural raw materials is significantly higher here than with the mentioned commercial brands. Our wish is to bring our customers, first of all, quality products of natural cosmetics. In production, we do not use silicones, sulfates, petroleum derivatives, mineral oils, GMO raw materials, synthetic dyes, artificial fragrances, or aggressive cleaning or preservative ingredients. All our products are scented with pure nature in the form of organic essential oils and their blends, which we mix ourselves.

CERTIFIED AND VEGAN NATURAL COSMETICS

Thanks to high demand, you can already find many products that are labeled as natural. However, this statement does not always correspond to the idea of high-quality natural cosmetics. BIO and natural cosmetics can be recognized on the basis of the mentioned composition and, for example, also according to the assigned certificates. These are, for example, certificates COSMOS, BDIH, ECOCERT, CPK, vegans, LACON, HCS, FAIRTRADE, etc., which guarantee the natural or ecological composition of products. Each certificate awarded by one of the private institutes is a guarantee of meeting certain conditions and standards.

In order to obtain such a certificate, a product must usually be:
- without synthetic dyes
- without preservatives
- without synthetic perfume ingredients
- without mineral oil-based components
- without silicones
- without paraffin and other artificial fats

What is the difference between natural, organic and vegan cosmetics?

Vegan cosmetics save not only the lives of animals. Vegan cosmetics are cosmetics whose ingredients or final form have not been tested on animals and do not contain any animal substances. It saves land, soil and water that would otherwise be exposed to herds of animals. Vegan means being kind to yourself, others, animals, and the Earth. Vegan cosmetics must not e.g. also contain beeswax and honey, which can be questionable because these are secondary animal ingredients and their extraction does not harm the animal originator.

What is a vegan certificate?

By using this certificate, the companies undertake that no animal ingredients, no animal products have been used in their products, and that no animals have been used during the production process.

Be careful, dear consumer, unfortunately, these cosmetics may contain chemicals and synthetic or dangerous substances. So let's not confuse natural and organic cosmetics with vegan and don't consider vegan cosmetics products, even if certified, to be automatically natural products. Many commercial cosmetic products are vegan, and yet, when we look at the composition, we would hardly find anything from natural ingredients.

Soaphoria natural cosmetics meets all the above standards, although it does not directly possess any of the certificates listed above. However, it is not because she could not obtain this certificate, on the contrary, many standards, for example, those that determine the percentage of natural ingredients, are many times higher than the condition for obtaining the certificate. In addition, the award of such a certificate is financially demanding for the brand and often subsequently leads to an increase in product prices. Soaphoria chooses the path of transparent communication and makes all information about the product available to its customers. In the detailed product descriptions you can find not only the complete composition, including the Slovak names of the individual ingredients, but also information about the used preservation system or natural dye and much more. We want our customers to always have access to all relevant information about the brand and individual products, at the same time we also try to keep the prices of our products favorable. Also for this reason, we at Soaphoria have not yet taken steps leading to the official acquisition of any of the international natural cosmetics certificates, as we stand by the quality of our products and do not wish to increase their price just because of the need to add the logo of the certification company on their packaging.

The products of natural decorative cosmetics also have several advantages over conventional cosmetics: they are vegan and not tested on animals, they have passed ecological tests and thus represent a more sustainable choice than ordinary cosmetic products, from the content to the packaging.

Natural sunscreens use minerals to protect against the sun, which create a physical barrier against the sun's rays on the skin and thus reflect (and to a lesser extent absorb) UV radiation from it, thanks to which the skin remains intact and reliably protected.

Compared to them, conventional or even chemical SPF products match the sun by containing active chemical filters that absorb UV light but do not reflect it, thus preventing skin damage.

Essential oils - what are they?

Essential oils can be used in a number of ways. For example, we can release their scent directly into the air using scent diffusers and air fresheners, or we can let them work directly on the skin using cosmetic products. Alternatively, we can completely surround ourselves with them if we add them to our bath. There are many options, the results are equally positive. Aromatherapy brings closer contact with the power of nature, teaches us to use its scents correctly and benefit from their beneficial effects.

An essential oil is a plant extract. In plants, aromatic substances occur in the form of a mixture of many chemical components, which we call essential oils. There are many ways to extract these
essential oils from plants: by leaching into a suitable solvent (alcohol, fat, oil), steam distillation or pressing. Several tons of plant material are sometimes used to produce a small amount of essential oil. You may also come across the term silica. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the names of the fragrance oil. This is not an extract from plants, but a laboratory-produced fragrance that has no beneficial therapeutic effects, in short, it is an artificially produced oil whose role is to smell. That is all.

Essential oils are obtained from different parts of plants (leaves, wood, fruits). By steam distillation, extraction (in which organic solvents are used) or pressing. As we mentioned, it is important to
distinguish between natural essential oils and synthetic oils. The 100% natural ones not only smell wonderful, but above all they are effective. Synthetic essential oils, also called fragrance oils, do not have the effects of essential oils, but many people are tempted by their low price. For proper aromatherapy, which is a great way to use essential oils, you will always need natural
fragrance oils, so keep that in mind when choosing. Look for high-quality products from proven and reliable brands, that´s the only way you can be sure of quality. A good indicator can be the price and also the bottle in which the oils are stored. It should always be dark! Therefore, in order to preserve the best quality properties of the oil, avoid plastic packaging and clear glass. How to use essential oils?

Improving the mood, inducing mental and physical well-being or even returning to oneself and achieving a moment of peace in the midst of the everyday rush. All this can be done by aromatic oils
or scented essences, which can have a positive effect in various situations.
However, care must be taken to ensure their safe use. Always read the instructions and warnings on the packaging before use. In general, essential oils in their undiluted form should not come into
contact with the skin or enter the respiratory tract. Therefore, store scented oils in dark bottles, in a closed cabinet out of the reach of children or in another cool and dark place. You can also use diluted essential oils on the body, or directly drop into an aroma lamp with a lit candle or a diffuser. From the diffuser, the active substances evaporate into the air, so they enter the
body by inhalation. By inhaling, you will get all the active substances, in addition, the aroma diffused in this way will beautifully perfume your home.

If you need to increase the healing effect, use the essential oil directly for steaming. Add a little oil to a pot of hot water, a few drops will do, less is more! Bend over the pot and cover yourself with a large towel. Inhale the steam for several minutes.

Many of the essential oils (for example, lavender or ylang ylang oil) have calming effects, provide energy, improve mood, help achieve a deeper state of meditation, start creativity and drive away frustration. They improve sleep, refresh. Inhaling the scent helps to relax the airways. Massages, in turn, help rid the body of pain, inflammation, stiff muscles, and sore joints. The essential oil is dripped into a fine, preferably organic vegetable oil, which in itself has no smell. You can even add a few drops of essential oil to the bath. Can you imagine a more pleasant relaxation than a fragrant hot bath? In addition, the oil will add softness and elasticity to your skin, nourish your hair, and ward off ailments. As with herbal baths, you can also count on extremely beneficial effects on the internal systems of the entire body.

Lavender essential oil is one of the most versatile oils. It has an uplifting effect on the psyche, calms tension and stress, even helps alleviate the symptoms of shock, suppresses depression. It brings relief from joint and muscle pain, relieves swelling and rheumatic pain. It has effects on the psyche as a mild sedative, helps alleviate the symptoms of epilepsy, calm hysteria, fear. It can also eliminate harmful substances in the air.

Oregano is effective against mucus and parasites. It is a strong fighter against the flu because it eliminates viruses and bacteria in the air. It even relieves fever, headache and stimulates the immune system. It has a pleasant herbal aroma.

Oil from the exotic ylang ylang flower has a very distinct floral, oriental sweet scent. Its effects are truly broad-spectrum. It relieves stress and tension, it can dissipate anger and frustration. It supports sexual desire in both women and men, helps improve relationships and restore harmony to them. In skin care, it soothes irritation, neutralizes, suppresses excessive sebum production. The nourishing effects are also shown on the hair, which it protects against splitting and drying. Relieves muscle spasms and pain.

Essential oils in pregnancy

Some essential oils can also be used during pregnancy, but more carefully. Above all, it is recommended to avoid internal use and direct application to the skin, in fact, during pregnancy aromatherapy is only recommended in the form of inhalation. There are many oils and not all of them have a known effect during pregnancy, so always follow the recommendations of doctors and the information on the product packaging.

Among the essential oils that are safe during pregnancy are e.g. melissa, citrus (orange, lemon), vanilla, rose, patchouli or sandalwood.

Can essential oils be used by children?

Babies and small children have sensitive skin, so they are at a higher risk of skin irritation. Never use oils on a newborn baby under 3 months of age, but be extremely careful even after this age. Check the appropriate dosage on the packaging of each product. Never use undiluted essential oil and apply the mixture so that it does not get into the child's mouth, eyes or sensitive areas. For inhalation in case of respiratory problems, choose delicate and carefully selected aromatherapy mixtures of essential oils, which must be thoroughly diluted. At home, store your oils out of the reach of prying hands.

Does aromatherapy help against stress, depression and other psychological problems?

Yes and no. When inhaled, the scent molecules are transferred to the brain, where they affect the limbic system, which is the seat of the olfactory center. This is how they affect the central nervous system. However, the results of the studies are unclear. Someone will feel the effects of scents during stress, anxiety or depression, others don't know the difference. Essential oils can also serve as a complementary treatment for symptoms of anxiety, depression or stress. However, it is still extremely important to solve their origin, possibly even with the help of an expert, i.e. psychiatrist or psychologist. Many people are sceptic about aromatherapy itself. They can't explain how inhaling scented oils can affect how they feel. At the same time, the smell can fundamentally influence our mood, well-being, mind and even health. Aromatherapy is a type of alternative medicine that uses essential oils. Practicing it at home is not difficult. Aromatherapy or essential oil therapy refers to a range of traditional, alternative or complementary therapies that use essential oils and other aromatic plant compounds.

Aromatherapy is an alternative or complementary method of therapy that uses essential oils and other aromatic plant compounds with the ability to affect mood, state of mind and some physical problems. Oils can be inhaled from hot water or a special diffuser, aroma lamp, carefully applied to the skin or used in a bath and massage. Aromatherapy uses essential oils that can induce a feeling of well-being and can have a positive effect on our body and psyche. However, these should always be 100% natural essential oils. Only those have effects and will help us to relax or induce mental and physical well-being. At the same time, they can also help in the treatment of psychological and physical difficulties.

If you thought it was something new, aromatherapy is not a recent invention, it has been working for thousands of years. And essential oils are not ordinary fragrance oils. They hide the real essences of plants whose healing power was discovered by people a long, long time ago, even in ancient times. We still use their wisdom today. Although the scent itself can arouse emotions in a person and create an atmosphere, essential oils have a very wide range of effects. They help us to live better, to get rid of the stress that the present time brings us, to heal from colds, flus and many pains. A number of essential oils have even been found to exhibit varying degrees of antimicrobial activity and are thought to have antiviral, antioxidant, anti-anxiety and other health effects. Aromatherapy applications include inhalations, massages or use in a carrier oil bath. This is because the true essence of the treatment - aromatherapy - is the absorption of essential oils by the human body.

The power of nature was already known more than 6000 years ago. People used plants to treat various diseases or in religious ceremonies. Already in ancient times, plants were processed into oils. The birth of aromatherapy, as we know it today, occurred in ancient Egypt, as early as 3,500 BC. Already at that time, the use of medicinal herbs, but also their oils, was developed in China and India - where they were part of Ayurvedic treatment. Therapy with oils obtained from plants was also noticed and used in his practice by Hippocrates. In Europe, we owe the development of herbal medicine to Hippocrates, who studied the effects of essential oils and recommended their application as a method of treatment. Medicinal herbs were used by the ancient Greeks and Romans in the form of powders, ointments, aromatic waters, or perfumes. Essential oils and perfumes were even among the oldest tradable commodities. Even in Arab civilization, essential oils were known for their therapeutic effects. The Arab physician Avicenna was instrumental in streamlining the production of rose oil with a new method of distillation and thus became a pioneer in the production of pure essential oils and aromatic waters (hydrolates). In Indian records dating back 2000 years, lists of 700 medicinal plants have appeared. Around that time, the aforementioned well-known Ayurvedic medicine began to emerge, which still uses these medicinal plants and essential oils in the traditional treatment of various diseases. The manipulation of herbs was highly valued in those days, even considered a sacred task.

Such Egyptians knew the magic of growing plants and processing them to obtain oils. They were used to treat various diseases, but also for skin care, cleaning and rejuvenating procedures. The ancient Egyptians used essential oils, resins from cedar wood or incense in embalming for their antibacterial effects. Essential oils were stored with the bodies to ensure the transition of the deceased to the "other world", so they also played a role in the spiritual world. They believed that certain scents could activate a higher consciousness or completely relax a person. Over time, the use of essential oils spread to other areas of Egyptian life (medicine, cosmetics, perfumes...). In the 15th century, aromatic waters and oils were mainly used to suppress body odor, but records show that during plague epidemics, aromatic substances obtained from plants were also the main source of protection for their antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral properties (e.g. cinnamon, cedar, lavender, rose, rosemary...). Later, in addition to medicine, the field of perfumery also developed, where essential oils were used precisely for their beautiful scents. In this, the French especially excelled, who were engaged in the production of soaps, toilet waters and massage mixtures. The most famous area is Grasse. In the 19th century, however, the pharmaceutical industry boomed and interest shifted to synthetic chemical drugs. Despite the undoubtedly great benefits of essential oils for human health, their therapeutic value seemed weak to people compared to synthetic drugs. Probably because commercially produced drugs have made our lives easier, they work faster and are "safe" as they have passed a lot of tests... After all, a sick person is willing to do anything and exchange everything he has, in order to be cured... Fortunately, people nowadays they turn back to nature and rediscover its healing power.

Already at the beginning of the 20th century, the French chemist Gattefossé, who worked in the perfume industry, contributed to this. In an accident where he burned his hands, he applied pure lavender essential oil to the damaged area. He found that the burned area healed incredibly quickly and did not leave a scar. He began to investigate pure essential oils more deeply and found that they are much more effective than their synthetic imitations, or medicines of that time. He thus became the father of modern aromatherapy. The results of his work interested the French doctor Valnet, and he created a program for the treatment of clinical and psychiatric disorders of his patients using essential oils, and even a very successful program. Finally, today, after so many millennia, we have it scientifically confirmed: inhaling essences stimulates the limbic system and directly affects those parts of the brain that affect emotions, memory, and senses. The limbic system also plays an important role in physiological functions such as breathing, heart rate, blood pressure. Therefore, it is logical that medicinal substances from plants directly affect us and the effects appear after only a few minutes. However, users should be aware that "natural" products are also chemicals and can be dangerous if used in the wrong way. In no case, therefore, many of them are not intended for internal use. Pure essential oils are even too strong to use alone on the skin. A few drops are enough for a strong scent effect, and using them on the skin irritates the skin. That is why aromatherapy uses diffusers, other plant oils and other ways to enjoy the scent in a pleasant intensity and without risk.

Different oils have different effects on the mind and body. When you smell them or let them permeate your skin, they can have a number of beneficial effects. As we have already mentioned, alleviation of nervousness and stress, improvement of sleep, relief of headaches and antibacterial or healing effects on the skin are most often mentioned. In aromatherapy, however, not only essential oils are used for their valuable medicinal effects, but also natural cold-pressed, so-called virgin, vegetable oils and butters, cosmetic clays, waxes, herbal extracts or sea salt. But would synthetic substances be used for such purposes? Not really.

AROMATHERAPY IN PRACTICE

Among the most famous methods of aromatherapy are massages, baths, ointments and compresses, that is, all procedures in which the oil is absorbed by the skin. At the same time, these are the safest methods that affect the body and soul. In addition, you will scent your home and clean the air at the same time, because scented oils also have antibacterial effects.

Inhalation of essential oils

This brings us to the next method of using aromatic oils - inhalation. For example, you can drop the oil on a cloth handkerchief and inhale it or drop it into a bowl of hot water, lean over it, cover your head with a towel and inhale. The selected oil will permeate the room even from a diffuser or an aroma lamp. Aromatherapy in the form of air fresheners is the simplest and at the same time the most popular form of using essential oils. Vapors from aromatic oils gently perfume the air in the room and help create a pleasant atmosphere at home or at work. All you need is a fragrance oil and a spray bottle. It can be the aforementioned diffuser, air freshener, or an ordinary scented lamp with a candle. As a rule, three to fifteen drops of aromatic oil are enough to scent a room, and you will feel its effect for several hours.

There is an essential oil for every occasion and mood, or combinations of different oils that suit you. You can use their properties purposefully, but also "just like that" to calm down, create a pleasant atmosphere or simply freshen the air and improve your mood.

You can make aromatic oils part of your daily joyful rituals. During the day, thanks to them, you can maintain a pleasant smell and fresh air in your surroundings with the help of a diffuser, in the evening you can treat yourself to a fragrant bath or an aromatic massage and use a few drops before bed to help you relax and fall asleep more pleasantly.

Applying essential oils to the skin

It can also be direct, but always only with the help of diluted essential oil or natural cosmetics. Other pleasant methods are baths and massages. Using a bath oil or massage oil will benefit your skin and mind. Also in this case, do not forget to dilute the pure essential oils. Even the massage itself can relax you wonderfully, and aromatic oils will multiply this effect even more. In order for the essential oil to penetrate the skin, it needs a base in which it dissolves - e.g. an oil or cream through which the essences can be released. Again, apply only diluted essential oils.

The beneficial effects of spas are nothing new - already thousands of years ago, this "water therapy" was popular as a way to cleanse the body and soul. Even more so when you add aromatherapy to it! An ideal way to unwind and relax. It works wonders after a hard day and can help you even with a mild cold. However, even when taking a bath, it is important that you do not add essential oils directly to the water, but dissolved in another base (e.g. oil or salt). Oils and bath additives containing essential oils are again different, thanks to which you have the right one at hand for every situation. It also applies here that different scents serve different effects. Just as when choosing a fragrance for a diffuser or a scented candle, also for a massage, reach for the type of essential oil according to what you need right now. Whether you prefer a calming or refreshing effect, essential oils can adapt to you. Use them calmly and according to your mood.

Many mothers wonder if the use of essential oils is safe for their little ones. Yes, aromatherapy is also suitable for children. However, under no circumstances should you apply essential oils to the skin undiluted, i.e. in pure form directly from the bottle. As you will read in the previous lines, they can cause strong allergic reactions, in worse cases even burns. With frequent and repeated application, there is a risk of developing contact dermatitis or skin inflammation, which is caused by contact of the skin with the allergen.

How to dilute essential oils? They are most often diluted with skin-friendly nasal vegetable oils, ideally organic, non-food grade, such as argan or jojoba. Work with oils carefully and strictly follow the recommendations on the packaging to avoid possible irritation of the skin or around the eyes. If you wish to practice aromatherapy for children, you can also drip the oil into a diffuser, or you can use it for massage, but following some rules:
- Use diluted oil. For baby massages, just mix a few drops in coconut oil.
- Never use oil on the face, it could irritate the eyes, nose, ears.
- Consult your doctor and aromatherapist if you are treating a more serious illness to avoid drug interactions.

As much as we might wish, candles don't burn forever. The burning time is limited and is indicated on the labels in hours. The largest scented candles can burn for 150 hours, which is roughly 6.5 days. But most burn for approximately 32 to 50 hours. Tea candles last a maximum of 6 hours.

· Size, weight, design

Size and weight go hand in hand. The bigger the candle, the heavier it is. The most massive ones can reach up to 2 kilograms. On the other hand, floating or tea candles weigh only a few grams. A scented candle can also stand out in the apartment as a great decorative element if you match it to the style of the interior.

· Aroma

Choose according to your mood and your own preferences, the scented candle in your home should smell like you!

Thanks to the fact that there is such an offer of scented candles of all sizes and types on the market today, you can use them almost anywhere. You may not even realize it, but you use candles depending on the season. In winter, large cylindrical candles for candlesticks are suitable for your Advent wreath. In autumn, you can use them in a hollowed-out pumpkin during Halloween or light them on Halloween as a memory of your loved ones. In the spring, they are perfect on the table during a romantic dinner, and in the summer to make the atmosphere on the terrace pleasant and scare away unwanted mosquitoes. Why can some scented candles be harmful to health?

Do you light scented candles often? Their composition is very important. If the scented candles are cheap, low-quality and already smell "artificial" from afar, they often contain not only chemically bleached paraffin, a petroleum derivative, from which, when ignited, the same carcinogenic soot is released as you can find in car exhaust emissions, and in addition other artificial compounds that cost behind the "smell" itself. It is better to pay extra for one really high-quality and healthy candle. What can replace a paraffin scented candle?

- Scented candles made of natural oil or wax (hemp, soy, sunflower, olive, coconut, etc.) are the best solution.
- Palm wax scented candles are also non-toxic. However, when it is obtained, the forests are devastated, so we do not make such candles at Soaphoria.
- Beeswax scented candles burn longer and smell like honey. But beeswax may not suit vegans.
- Cotton and wood are the best solutions for a candle wick.

How should a scented candle burn?

In order for the scented candle to burn properly, it is good to follow a few basic rules:

- Large candles must be allowed to burn, which can take up to 4 hours.
- If the scented candle does not burn evenly and only burns out in the middle, tilt it in all directions so that the wax melts and forms an even surface on the candle.
- You can also wrap scented candles in foil. Leave only a small opening at the top so that the fire has sufficient air supply. The accumulated heat melts the wax in no time.
- Extinguish smoking scented candles, trim and clean the wick. The length of the wick should always be somewhere between 3-5 mm.
- Do not blow out scented candles, suffocate the wick in wax, or cover the candle with a lid. Do not forget to ventilate well.
- Even a natural scented candle should not burn for more than 5 hours. Although a properly chosen aroma helps with headaches, long-term inhalation can have the exact opposite effect.

Natural scented candles

Natural candles are made from soy, beeswax, coconut, sunflower or other vegetable wax and their big advantage is a longer burning time compared to paraffin candles. Candles made of natural wax even release their fragrance even when they are no longer burning.
